I'm making good progress on Anathem. I'm really enjoying it. I spent last night reading it in a comfy chair with a six-pack of yummy beer. I'm about 250 pages into it. It reminds me of Gene Wolfe's Book of the New Sun but that may just be the setting. I'd forgotten how funny Stephenson could be when he wants to. Anyways, good stuff.

 

I also watched about half of the Beowulf movie that came out last year just because Neil Gaiman co-wrote the script. I had no idea that it was all computer animated. I thought it was all green screen or something like 300. It was super-creepy and terrible. The uncanny valley is deep, indeed.
